Garage Beirut

A new Lebanese restaurant opened near by Guy Concordia in April. It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon and we had gotten a warm recommendation from some friends, so we went to check it out!

We arrived and got a nice table outside, towards Mackay street. The lady working there was very friendly and guided us through the menu. She told us that they make everything themselves; it was authentic, traditional cooking.

My boyfriend had a bottle of beer and I had their homemade lemonade. I usually think lemonade around here is too sweet, but this one didn’t have as much sugar, and it came with freshly crushed mint leaves. It tasted like a mojito, minus the rum :P Pretty good!

We weren’t sure what to order, so we decided to go for the recommended dishes; Fattouch Salad ($6) and Mixed Grill for 2 people ($22).

The Mixed Grill included 5 kinds of seasoned meat, grilled tomatoes and onions, pickles, hummus and a thick garlic sauce. And fresh pita bread, of course. I especially liked their homemade hummus! (You can also order for 4 people).

We had to push ourselves to finish the generous portions, but we managed to clean the table! And then we got some coffee (also included) to wrap it up :)
